VOLUNTEER SERVICES PROGRAM
The Beaumont Police Department, Volunteer Service Program (CVPs), have a 14 year history of service to the Beaumont Police Department and the City of Beaumont.
STAFFING
This program is staffed by residents of the City of Beaumont and the surrounding communities.
The Beaumont Police Department provides training in basic police work, provides uniforms, specially marked cars and supervision.
Authorized personnel strength is 21 Volunteers. Current staffing level is 14 Volunteers.
DUTIES and ASSIGNMENTS
The CVP Volunteers are asked to try to devote at least 16 hours per month.
Duty assignments include but not limited to,
● Vacation house checks
● Business checks
● Emergency street closures
● Escort parades
● Support local events
● Computer Data Entry
● Evidence handling
● Disaster support as requested by Incident Commanders
TRAINING
The Beaumont Police Department has enjoyed a lengthy relationship with the Redlands Police Department. Sharing a 12 week Volunteer Training Academy has been a benefit to both departments.
The Beaumont Police Department is currently exploring a Volunteer Academy within the department.
QUALIFICATIONS
Volunteer Candidates must be,
● In reasonably good health
● Able to pass a police background check
● Have a good driving record
● Able to work well with other Volunteers
